Finally, the wait comes to an end as Tata officially teases the upcoming Tigor EV in a Youtube video, and the launch of the EV can be expected soon.
Throughout the video, one message was certainly conveyed that the Tigor EV will be powered the same as the Tata Nexon EV and will be based on the manufacturer’s Ziptron technology.
In the video, it can be seen Tata Nexon EV is driven by former F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan, which later on is overtaken by a camouflaged Tigor EV, leaving the Nexon EV behind and achieving the finish line earlier.
Nexon EV is powered with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery, which is paired with an AC motor. The motor produces max power of 129 Ps, and the torque max output happens to be 240 Nm.
The EV is capable of doing a sprint of 0-100 kmph in just 9.9 seconds., while according to the ARAI reports, the car has a range of 312 km at a full charge.
The battery of the EV can be charged completely in 8-10 hours using the home AC wall charger. But, the DC fast charger can charge the car from 0-80 percent in just 1 hour.
All the above-mentioned mechanical specifications are expected with the upcoming Tata Tigor Electric as currently, the EV comes with a 21.5 kWh battery pack, and the driving range is around 200 km on a single charge.
Currently, the pricing of the EV is not disclosed yet, but we expect it to be slightly cheaper than the Nexon EV.
